VilhariaStructures of Belonging
LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA
Belonging holds a particular resonance for CORWIN art. Thus it became the unifying motif of the exhibition marking the opening of the Vilharia office complex in Ljubljana.
The participating artists — Adam Hudec, Aleksandra Vajd, Hynek Alt, Dominik Lang, Kvet Nguyen, Kristina Paunovska, and David Nez — explore, through photography, sculpture, and performance, the relationships between the individual, communities, space, and nature.
“Every person is part of different communities and relationships that shape their experience of the world. We belong to our families, languages, places of residence, cultures, generations, and to the people with whom we share our surroundings. At the same time, we are deeply connected to the environment around us – to the architecture that surrounds us, the air we breathe, and the natural world of which we are a part, even though we often forget this connection.The exhibition Structures of Belonging begins with the question of how these relationships are formed and how they shape our understanding of ourselves, others, and the world around us.”— Luka Savić, curator
