Through her own personal and family history \u2014 in particular her parents&#8217; experience of immigrating from Vietnam to Slovakia \u2014 she touches on the subjects of collective memory, history, and the individual&#8217;s place in contemporary society.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;188857&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p><strong><i>Reframing Possibilities I<\/i> and <i>III<\/i><\/strong> appear, at first glance, to be classic photographic portraits, but they conceal a more complex exploration of the relationship between body, space, and identity. The works were created during the COVID-19 pandemic, when restricted movement forced the artist to walk the same routes over and over again. During these walks, she collected various random materials, which she later used in creating the works.<br \/>In her portraits, she uncovers not only the image of the body, but also the relationship between what something is and how it is presented.
